All the above families live in different villages on western mountain ranges in Maharashtra. They have good road connectivity to Pune but the distance and isolated location is always a challenge. There are two schools in the locality. The village Jila Parishad Marathi medium school is only till class 8th. There is a tendency in families to stop girls’ education after 8th while they send their boys to boarding schools in Pune. These girls are usually married off in age ranging from 16 to 18. The private school does provide good english medium education and keeps good standards, while it always faces financial challenges. There is no training institute or teacher for technical education, art, and craft and sports which is vital for overall growth. Many children hold a special interest in the same.
